HISTORY
Alford Sports Hall, a local community run facility, set on the edge of the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds. It was officially opened on Thursday 27th June 1996, by HRH the Duke of Gloucester GCVO.
The result of a ‘Chance to Share’ agreement between John Spendluffe Technology College and Alford Town Council. Alford Sports Hall was built with funding provided by the community, the Town Council of Alford, East Lindsey District Council, The Sports Council and The Rural Development Commission.
Alford Sports Hall is a not for profit organisation and therefore any income is invested in the running and development of the facility. Alford Sports Hall also receives part funding from East Lindsey District Council and works closely with their sports development and facilities team. Alford Town Council are also supporters of Alford Sports Hall. Both these two organisations are represented on Alford Sports Hall’s Committee, which oversees the work of the Sports Hall and assesses its progress and development.
We also have close links with John Spendluffe Technology College and work together to maintain the equipment and facilities are the best they can be.
